From the day Netflix announced the project officially on 28 October of 2020, Navarasa has been the talk of the town among all the south Indian states. Navarasa will mark the digital debut of Mani Ratnam and the directorial debut of Arvind Swami. As exciting as it sounds, the series is going to have several other huge names and a subtle yet intriguing plot. Let’s look at more about this OTT release.
NAVARASA OTT Release:
This upcoming Tamil anthology, produced by Mani Ratnam with Jayendra Panchapakesan’s collaboration, will hit the screens soon and all of us are at the edges of our seats already. As the name suggests, the anthology Navarasa is designed to have 9 standalone episodes depicting each rasa or emotion such as anger, love, wonder, peace, courage, disgust, laughter, compassion, and fear.
Navarasa – Cast, and Crew
The anthology boasts huge names in both the direction and the acting columns. The streaming platform Netflix announced a list of cast, which made many jaws drop in awe. The screens will be graced by the Kollywood heartthrob Suriya, in an episode that is going to be directed by Gautam Vasudev Menon. Along with him, Siddartha, Vijay Sethupathi, Revathi, Prakashraj, Aishwarya Rajesh and several other prominent actors are going to make out time worthwhile with their screen presence.
Navarasa, Is This The Next Big Indian OTT Release? – Gautam Menon, Suriya, and Arvind Swami
Each standalone episode of Navarasa will be directed by a different director. The names include Gautam Menon, Arvind Swami, Rathindran R Prasad, Karthick Naren, Halitha Shameem, Karthik Subbaraj, Bejoy Nambiar, Priya Darshan, and Vasant. The cast and crew are contributing to the film without any remuneration. The profits earned are going to be donated to the Film Employees Federation of South India(FEFSI).
Navarasa OTT Release Date:
As the first episode of the anthology starring Siddharth hit the sets in October 2020 and was completed in just 6 days. This shows the fast processing of the production house activities. Though it’s supposed to reach us during May of 2021, the pandemic has hindered the process yet again. There is no official confirmation about the release date but there have been high bids on August 2021.
So, as we are all ready and waiting for a long time, all we need to wait is two more months. Hang on tight, it’s safe to assume that this anthology is going to shake us all.
