Pay hike for government employees: UP to give renumeration for UPUMS staff

On Tuesday, 24th of September 2019, the decision has been taken by the Uttar Pradesh Government that now, the remuneration that will be given to the staff of the Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS), Saifai will be on par with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

The aforesaid decision was taken at a cabinet meeting that was chaired by the State’s Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath.

Rajneesh Dubey, the Principal Secretary of Medical Education, said that there are a total of four medical institutions which the government took in consideration on par with AIIMS. They are – Sanjay Gandhi PGI, Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, King George’s Medical University (KGMU) and UPUMS.

The other three institutions were getting salary and allowances on par with AIIMS. But now, UPUMS will also get the same benefit.

He said that with this decision of the government, 200 doctors, 1200 employees and 250 residents will be able to avail benefits. Not only this, but it will also put an additional burden of Rs. 15 crores per year on the state exchequer.

In another decision, the cabinet of the state-approved various issues related to land and other issues so that a satellite campus of KGMU in Balrampur district, which is named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, can be started.

He said that at the beginning, Rs. 85 crores will be spent on setting up of hospital of 300 beds.
